Oxiteno recently participated in the 13th International Trade Fair of Paint Suppliers, ABRAFATI 2013 at Transamérica Expo Center, in São Paulo. The event is held by the Brazilian Coatings Manufacturers Association to foster the development of the industry and gather the main paint manufacturers in the country. Oxiteno launched the OXIMULSION line of APE-Free (free from nonylphenol) surfactants for polymerization in emulsion that are friendlier to the environment and human health. “It is a challenge to develop products to substitute surfactants derived from alkylphenol, in view of its excellent cost-benefit ratio. However, these products could be harmful to the environment. Thinking about it Oxiteno developed a line of products that feature the same technical performance characteristics but with better environmental performance”, tells the Research & Development manager for the Paints & Coatings market of Oxiteno, Nádia Armelin. In addition, the company presented its paints and coatings market specialists, three lectures that addressed some solutions that guarantee higher product performance combined with sustainability. These are as follows: Low VOC and odor coalescents – lecturer: Juliane Pereira Santos Solvent system for automotive paints – lecturer: Fábio Rosa Surfactant for polymerization in emulsion – lecturer: Juliane Pereira Santos.
